WBT… About making “back to reality” not suck!

I’m sure that you’ve noticed that if you don’t get intentional about it, change doesn’t happen.

And if you’re like many of us, you’ve mostly taken the summer off from the tough stuff, choosing a holding pattern and using summer to rest and recharge. I hope you did because if you spend a lot of your life doing all the things, then that rest time is just as if not more important than the time you spend doing.

One thing I’ve found is that September always comes with some degree of anxiety. It’s not always an easy transition from being to doing and of course, it also brings to mind our limitations and our patterns. And then there’s the fact that we then do our own analysis of how well we’ve done in the past. Because, you know, we can be so supportive and encouraging when it comes to our own selves. Ha.

So if you’re heading “back to reality” (back to busy work or school), you want to make a change, you’ve got a new goal to tackle or maybe you want to revisit something you tried to do in the past but didn’t quite accomplish, here’s where to start:

  1. Make sure that this is what you really want for yourself. Why do you want it? What will it change for you? How does it align with who you really are?

  2. Layout the steps to get there. What will your life look like at every step? What might be some challenges to working through these steps? What can you do to increase your success?

  3. Have a daily self-care ritual. What can you do every day to support your mind, body, and soul? This is a must if you want to live an intentional, connected life. Know that this doesn’t take time from your life; it creates time in your life and makes every part of it easier and better. 

Now this is how you do reality differently!
